He’s the author of four novels (all of which are currently available for purchase online at Amazon.com), multiple stories and more media essays than he cares to think about.

Dan is married to Janet Edens, a writer and designer, and their family also comprises four grown children from previous marriages: David Hartsell, Luke Conover, Lee Hartsell and Callie Hartsell. They live in the Uptown section of Charleston, where Dan runs the neighborhood mobile repair service CHS Uptown Bikes and writes about the Charleston Battery and the local soccer scene at CHSSoccer.net. Janet and Dan manage their portfolio of skills and freelance jobs via Xarktopia LLC.
